Thanks for sharing Adam. From experience I too know what the wrong items do not only to yourself but to your husband! The gates to our spirit (our eyes, our mouth, our ears) not only let in the good things but also the bad things. This world gives us ample opportunity to experience both but God gave us His Word and His Son and His Spirit to help us eat and partake of the good. Why eat junk food when you can have great cuisine.

But no matter what you say, those baked beans in the picture can’t be good for you, or at least for the wife who has to be around her husband after his body digests them (speaking from experience).

The point about not living if fear of what we “eat” is really good. A great balance to grace and law. God gave us the Holy Spirit so we can discern and, like you said, “spit out” the unhealthy things.

I’ll chew on this one today (sorry for the pun). Todd Helmkamp will appreciate that one.
