I think someone who filters based on their life experience is in far more danger than someone who filters based on what they want to hear. The person who is keeping what they want to keep knows that they are doing it. They may have to look deep inside, but on some level, they know. The person who filters based on life experience probably has no idea they are doing it. They are convinced they have heard the whole thing! I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
