I love Jesus Christ more than life, but I am constantly having to check my priorities to make sure that He is still number one, and my husband hasn't somehow managed to slide into that spot. Think about it. The relationship you have with your spouse is the most intimate, vulnerable relationship you will have with another human being in your entire life. How easy it is to be lulled into thinking that your life is complete as long as you have this person who loves you more than anyone. (other than God of course) It's a battle that a lot of people have to fight every day-even some of the most Godly people I know. Knowing how it SHOULD be is easy-having it actually be like that is much more difficult. Just a married person's perspective! Thanks for the reading recommendation. When I was finished reading the book I found myself asking the question: How can I even grow closer to my brother and sister, my parents, mt neice and nephews, even my friends, co-workers, and random people I meet on the street, if those relationships are not triangles, with God at the top, as well? It drew me to the conclusion that I'm not truly alive until I put God at the top of everything. It should be a lifestyle, not just a marriage, or any other kind, of goal. Great book!
