Risen To Reign Series

My church is gearing up for the Risen To Reign series. It’s a service series unlike any other New Hope has ever seen. Here’s the layout:

March 17-18 “How’d It Start?”
We’ve heard the Easter story before — Jesus came to the earth and died — but just how did it start?

March 24-25 “What Was Finished?”
This week we’ll look at Jesus’ famous words, “It is finished” and we’ll figure out exactly what was finished – what really finished.

March 31-April 1 “Where is He?”
This week we’re discussing what Jesus’ death and resurrection has to do with us.

April 7-8 “EASTER!”
On Easter weekend we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

There has been some “buzz” about how this year’s Easter services will be different than anything we’ve done before. That’s no secret. But exactly HOW it will be different will remain somewhat a surprise. This series will be jam packed with some of the best arts elements New Hope has experienced. You don’t want to miss these!

Every Easter people come out of the woodwork and pack out church buildings across America. People are more open to attending church during this season. This series has a huge “salvation” emphasis and is geared towards non-Christians. I encourage you Christians to follow my lead and invite those unbelievers you have contact with to come with you church during the “Risen to Reign” series. I have a list of 4 specific names of people I will invite in the next two weeks. There are lots of people that aren’t going to church anywhere – let’s bring them in!

  1. I pray that everything goes well, Adam. I know you’ve been preparing for a long time. It’s going to be great! I’m proud of you.

  2. Yea! Don’t invite. . . . BRING.

(except for people like me – the only way I could BRING someone is if they come two hours early for a rehearsal – ain’t happening. So . . . I’ll invite. But everyone else who is able – don’t invite – BRING).

  3. I suppose you could put them to work, making them feel important and involved. I don’t see why they wouldn’t want to. That is, if you got them to come with anticipation of something exciting that they wouldn’t want to miss.

  4. arzell,
good thought. it’s like, you’re reading our mind…we have something in the works (a few weeks out) to get these people involved.
Right on. Right on. Right on.

  5. Is this “something” a secret?

I think I would be more apt to invite people if I knew there was something to get them involved, I knew what it was, and I could be up front with them.

I know I wouldn’t want to be invited to something and later feel like I was ensnared into working (or anything, for that matter), and it had been the plan all along. And I don’t know that I would feel comfortable inviting people to something that does that.

  6. @ joe: oh goodness. the “something” is some arts elements. Most people know some of them. No one knows all of them. I will tell you that some of these arts elements involve explosions, youtube, chalk, and a string.

    Ooo… the suspense!

These services will provide an opportunity for people receive Christ – not become “ensnared” in Christ. There’s a gigantic difference.

  7. I guess I looked at arzell saying you should put the people to work, and nathan saying you had a plan to put them to work in a few weeks.

I think artistic elements and scripts and such should be a little bit privileged, otherwise I have no reason to go to the show.

I was just a little worried about the “put them to work…we have something for them” thing (they’re not cattle or slaves, they’re people 😀 ). But, that might just be the way I interpreted what was said.

  8. All right…even the fun, light-hearted posts get turned into quasi-arguments, and it’s a bit frustrating…and it’s not even my blog! Sheeshaweesha!

Easter services are different. There are some exciting things planned. Not everyone will know about them. Now let’s just say “That’s great!” and be excited!

  9. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your site?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or
two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?

  10. Greetings! I’ve been following your blog for a
while now and finally got the bravery to go ahead and give you a shout out from Kingwood Tx!
Just wanted to say keep up the excellent job!

  11. I like the valuable information you provide for your articles.
I’ll bookmark your weblog and take a look at again here regularly.
I am fairly sure I’ll be told many new stuff proper here!
Best of luck for the following!

  12. Hello! This post could not be written any better!
Reading this post reminds me of my previous room
mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him.

Fairly certain he will have a good read. Thank you for sharing!
