God wires us differently — that’s why such a thing as “personality conflicts” exist. You might have taken a personality test before — but I’d encourage you to complete a FlagPage. The FlagPage Test is not a personality test, but rather its a test that measures what you love! At the most basic level, the FlagPage shows four basic groups.
Hippocrates saw that there are generally four types of personalities (or combinations of them). This week I’m going to talk about each of these personalities with the terminology used in The FlagPage Test, and in relation to what people love. I will be describing these personalities and loves with the “Country” analogy — everyone’s personality is a country. Everyone has a homeland country, and most people also have an “adopted” country as well, which means they have some characteristics of that secondary personality. This is a great analogy because Americans cannot understand everything about the South African, Australian, or Jamaican culture (although they all speak English) — and we will have a difficult time understanding someone with a different personality.
This difference in “Nationality” in our personalities is why I want to help explain them. If you understand the four countries, you will do better at understanding other people.
This seems like an interesting test, but I just can’t justify spending $12.50 on myself when I could invest into the life of another.
Anyway, it sound very interesting, and I will be looking forward to your discussion of the idea.
I would be curious to know what it is that you love, or are passionate about? I am assuming that you’ve taken the test.
I, having not taken the test, feel pretty confident that I am passionate about people. I can sit in a coffee shop for hours just listening to and watching people. I love to hear what makes people unique, I love to hear what makes them the same. I love to know what they love, and what they hate, and what makes them sad and happy. I wonder why they think the way they do, and what experiences they have had in their lives. The list could go on and on.
If there is one thing I am not passionate about, it is goals. I am a very intense person, and when I become focused on goals, I lose my focus on people…it usually ends up with me focused on the goal for the sake of the goal, and then I am miserable.
So, I am interested to see what “country” I live in! (And, pursuant to my love of people, I am interested to know what “country” you live in, Adam 😀 )
Joe…
I have a hard time believing that you like to sit for hours ‘listening’ to people, when no one usually gets a word in edgewise 😉 Maybe you’ve changed in the year and a half since I’ve lived there…but I never experienced a Jeremiah Listening Experience!
Just messing with you.
lol…Abby, this used to be very true. But, I really have changed a lot. I really enjoy listening…however, when I do start talking, I still tend to ramble (surprise, surprise!) 🙂
