A Picture Is Worth . . .

This is how I feel:

In case you can’t tell, that’s the bottom of an empty barrel! Man, have I been drained lately. I’ve got to make some serious adjustments to my schedule, starting with a big massive hunk of time exclusively set aside for praying and connecting with God (not my normal time, but like a “recovery” time!). In the past 24 hours I’ve had two friends call and ask if I could get together with them, and I’ve had to tell them both, “I’m sorry, I’m not available. I’m going to be praying on that day.” Which is totally the truth!

You know, its cool how God works things out. One thing that had been pressuring me greatly was a speaking engagement that was scheduled for this month. Deadlines for some outlines and such were coming up just next week and I was starting to feel a lot of pressure. Just a few minutes ago, an organizer for the event called me and apologized but asked if he could move my speaking day back a month to May.

🙂 I love serving Jesus. He’s got my back, that’s for sure.

  1. Hey man, if you had a picture of the bottom of a toilet, you would have just explained the last couple of days of my life.

We have had a major clog in our main bathroom toilet for a couple of days. We have a bathroom upstairs that we rarely use (and the toilet up there doesn’t work very well either) but with little boys in the house, running up and down the stairs to use the bathroom for all of us was starting to get really annoying, not to mention the disgusting knowledge that the toilet in the main bathroom on the first floor was going to start getting pretty stinky. We had tried plunging and using a 3 foot snake, and more than a couple trips to Home Depot for commercial strength Drano type stuff. This evening we gave up, and before he went to bed Mike said “I guess it waits until Monday; you never call a plumber on the weekend!”. I sat watching TV for awhile getting more and more mad about that toilet. Finally I put some rubber gloves on, went and used a cup to get all of the nasty water that was in there out and dumped down the tub drain, and starting “plungin’ and prayin'”. I don’t think I prayed about it before, but this time it was just me, God and that toilet. I was asking God to help me and go in there and remove whatever it was, that it had to go. And all of a sudden the water that was in there started to drain out. I gasped and stood back in amazement. I didn’t even believe my prayers were going to work! I had to watch it flush like three times before I believed that it was actually working again. So I say all of that to say this-I came in here to take a load off and I got to your blog, and boy did I know that I had to share my excitement here-he DEFINITELY has our back, all the time, in the things we can’t believe we should even bother to ask for.
(kinda changes the meaning of “He plunged me to Victory” doesn’t it???!!!!)
    Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.

  2. Oh so true. I was down a while ago because of some financial stuff but took a minute to recoup and tell myself, “I’ve partnered with God in this. He’ll pull me through this, doubtlessly!” He’s got our back in more ways than we’ll ever know!

  3. I saw the following quote shortly after reading this post the other day, and thought it appropriate…
“When you’re down to nothing, God is up to something.” It’s so good to remember that God sees the big picture! When we surrender our lives to Him, we can trust that EVERYTHING that happens to or around us has come across His desk first. He sends the good things and allows the bad things to help us develop more of His character in our lives…and that’s a good thing!

  4. An additional issue is that video games are normally serious as the name indicated with the primary focus on knowing things rather than enjoyment. Although, it comes with an entertainment feature to keep your kids engaged, each one game is generally designed to develop a specific skill set or programs, such as mathmatical or scientific disciplines. Thanks for your post.

  5. My partner and i seemed to be really inspired to get this web site. I need to to help many thanks due to this unique study. My partner and i surely savored just about every small that and I’ve got you added to see fresh stuff an individual submit.

  6. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
